Dwight Howard: The Magic Show

12.29.08 | Comment?

Dwight Howard has proven to be the man of Orlando. He is the league leader in blocks per game, averaging 3.7 per contest, as well as the league leader in rebounding, averaging 13.6 boards per game. While averaging almost 20 points per game, Howard has proven to be a consistent double-double performer. Due to his abilities, his team continues to shine, winning seven games in a row including wins over San Antonio, New Orleans, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

While Dwight has been playing great ball, the basketball community has not let him go unnoticed. This week, Dwight continues to lead all players in votes received in the NBA All-Star balloting, proving his popularity. Most exciting of all though is that he has agreed to compete in the slam-dunk competition again this February during All-Star Weekend to try to repeat his stellar performance, including his famous “Superman” dunk. Howard is planned to face off against Rudy Gay, 2006 winner Nate Robinson, and a fan vote will pick the fourth competitor between Joe Alexander, Rudy Fernandez, and Russell Westbrook.
